On 29.10.2023, confidential information was received that around 10:30-11 PM, certain individuals affiliated with criminal gangs were expected to gather near the new Masjid, Deenpur Extn., with the intention of meeting their associates and planning an armed dacoity targeting jewelry shops.

A specialized team of police officers from PS Chhawla was assembled for this operation, comprising SI Bijender, ASI Samsher, HC Suresh, HC Jogender, HC Jitender Poonia, HC Ashok, HC Raj Kumar, HC Ram Dayal, Ct Sandeep, Ct Sunil, Ct Naveen, Ct Moti Lal, and Ct Mahesh. This team operated under the supervision of Insp. Pankaj Kumar, SHO/Chhawla, with overall guidance from Sh. Richhpal Singh, ACP/Chhawla. Their primary objective was to apprehend the suspects before any criminal activity could take place.

Based on the provided information, all eleven accused individuals were successfully apprehended. During interrogation, the suspects revealed their plans to commit dacoity in jewelry shops. Subsequent frisking led to the discovery of two rifles, one double-barrel gun, three country-made pistols, and seven live cartridges in the vehicles used by the accused.

As per recovery of illegal firearms & ammunition a case vide FIR No. 493/23 U/s 25/26/35 Arms Act was registered against the accused persons and during the investigation sections for preparation of dacoity i.e., 399/402 IPC were also invoked into case
