Tere Mere Geet(Juniors), a singing event in its sixth year was organized by Age Well Association at The New Jai Bharat Apartments, Sector 4, Dwarka on 29th March, 2024. Children from several NGOs and schools from Dwarka participated with intense energy and agility. The event received thumping applause from the invited audience of Dwarka, assembled in huge numbers to witness the musical evening. This event which was earlier part of the main programme during earlier editions of Tere Mere Geet has been detached from the main event from this year onwards. The organisers received suggestions from Dwarka based NGOs to encourage the participating children to be more competitive amongst the equals which would enhance their performance. Children were not finding it comfortable while singing parallel to the seniors and were fearful of losing stream and enthusiasm.
Contestants of Tere Mere Geet (Juniors) included children from Stand N Stride, Change I Network, Bal Vihar Children Home, Sahaj Sambhav, Brij Raj Singh Institute, Melody Foundation and from several schools of Dwarka.
The format allows children of the age group of 5 years to 18 years to exhibit their individual talents without any competition among the participants. All the children were given participation certificates, mementos, prizes and gifts.
Earlier, I M Khanna, President of Age Well Association welcomed the gathering, invited dignitaries and parents of the children and introduced the guests. Important invitees were honoured for their outstanding services and contribution towards the growth of Dwarka included Wg Cdr K L Kapoor, Rekha Jhingan, Shiv Kumar Sharma, Bharat Bhushan Gupta, Seema Bhalla, Suresh Sharma, Sanjay Agarwal, S S Dogra, Vishal Gupta, Asgar Ali, Mohd Tahir, Medicine Baba, Brij Raj Singh, Dronacharya and many others. Dr Deep Mala, Guest of honour and Pratima Khandelwal, Chief Guest, accredited with bringing bal ramleela in Dwarka spoke high of the initiative taken by Age Well Association in brining children from all walks of life at a single platform to showcase their talents.
I M Khanna was in all praise for the participants, members and the team managing the event. He thanked all the guests for their gracious presence. Though he was overwhelmed with the response the event received, he regretted for the inconvenience caused to a few who could not be accommodated in the packed auditorium of the society,
The event was anchored by Shashi Jain, well known in music circles for her spell-bound handling of the stage.
