Shri Nishith Chandra, DIG Indo-Tibetan Border Police and a former student of Government Boys Senior Secondary School No 3, Sarojini Nagar, New Delhi, is the guest in today's episode of our show "Alums of Delhi Government Schools."
Deputy Inspector General, Mr. Nishith Chandra, is regarded as highly professional officer and trainer as well as a sportsman who has worked at different levels in both command and staff assignments in the Force. He has led operations and commanded Battalions in some of the most inhospitable, high altitude extreme cold conditions on the border with China as well as in internal security duties. He has also served in UN mission in Kosovo as a civil police officer. A 1991 batch Direct Entry Officer of the CAPF, he has received a number of medals and decorations over the course of his career, including the President of India Police Medal for meritorious service, Intelligence Medal, Kathin sewa medal with bar, Fit India medal, UN medal with bar and more than seven DG Commendation Rolls and Insignias, Police Medal for Special Duty as well as appreciations and commendations from senior Officers and dignitaries.
