Khel aur Khiladi- Mayank Bansal: It is Cricket and Cars for this Sportstar
In a freewheeling chat with Radio Dwarka, teenager Mayank Bansal tells us how while watching an India vs. Pakistan match at Kotla, he promised his father, “One day I will also play for India.” That was when Bansal was barely nine years old. Years later, Bansal has kept his promise. He chose this sport and pursued it with passion. Today, he has represented Delhi at State level cricket for both Under 14 and Under 16 on four occasions.
His family has supported his decision to play cricket. Not quite fond of pursuing his studies, he says, it is his mother who forces him to attend classes and tuition, and complete homework on time. He hates to miss cricket coaching classes at Maulana Azad Club though. His idolises Virat Kohli and someday he would love to play for India.
A movie buff, he doesn’t ever miss a film starring Ranbir Kapoor or Alia Bhatt. Being a Dilli da Munda, he loves Pao Bhaji. He is passionate about cars and his favourite being a Merc.
