IP University launches a dedicated ‘Alumni Portal’ to re – connect its alumni
In a bid to re – connect millions of its alumni working world – wide, IP University has launched a dedicated ‘Alumni Portal’ here today.
At the online launching ceremony of the portal, the vice chancellor of the university Prof. Mahesh Verma said that it is a mile stone for the university. Creating a engaged and supportive alumni network through this portal will prove to be crucial to the success of the university. The alumni are very precious to us. If communication stops once graduates leave the university, their understanding of the university will become stale. Instead, they should be kept in forward so they can remain engaged and keep abreast on the progress of the university. There is no doubt that good alumni relationships bring many benefits to both the university and the alumni, opined the vice chancellor.
It will provide help and support to the students at various stages ranging from their stay in the university and even after pass out, he added.
The link of the portal has been placed prominently on the home page of the university. The portal can be downloaded as a mobile app on both android and ios smart mobile phones easily. It has all the salient features of a standard alumni portal like search option of alumni across programmes and batches, distinguished alumni list, available job options being provided by alumni, events, news, networking, professional development option, option to engage in meaningful way, etc. The log in/sign up option is available to all 12 university schools of the university on the portal through Linkedin, Facebook, Google and E – mail.
It is basically a platform for the IPU alumni from all over the world to come together in this virtual world to network, exchange ideas, share insights, update their particulars, mentoring, personal & professional development opportunities, success stories, etc.
The portal has been developed by ‘Alumni Connect’ with major contribution by an alumnus of the University School of Information and Communication Technology (USICT) of the university Mr Arup Ghosal.
