In this programme our guest, Bharti Ali, Co-Director, HAQ - Center for Child Rights, talks about the importance of understanding the cause of the children’s issues that lead to the establishment of HAQ. It aims at understanding the issue comprehensively, i.e. comprehend and aim to resolve the underlying cause along with the current issue. It also intends to hold the government responsible and accountable for Child rights.
Bharti speaks about an online campaign on Facebook, “No Kidding Act Now # End Child Sexual Abuse”, which is aimed to prepare our society not just to fight this injustice but curb it too. Bharti says, “Some ground activities like street plays and puppet shows will be linked to this campaign between 19th November, i.e. World Day of Prevention of Child Abuse to 10th December, i.e. World Human Rights day, to create more awareness.” She also urges the parents to pick early warning signs of change in behavior or academics to protect their children from such occurrences.
