IP University will adopt 25 villages around its both the campuses to mark its Silver Jubilee
celebrations. This adoption programme will be carried out with the involvment of both the
University Schools & its affiliated colleges. Emphasis will be given on legal aid, financial leteracy,
cyber hygiene, promotion of sports like activities under the village adoption programme. This
programme will be looked after by the NSS & NCC cells of the University.
The University has planned a number of events for the next one year as a part of this Silver
Jubilee celebrations. The Curtain Raiser is on 2nd December where a Calendar of year - long
activities as well a special logo of the Silver Jubilee celebrations will be released. A promotional
film on the trajectory of the University will also be shown on the occasion.
A number of programmes like Silver Jubilee cultural festival Anugoonj', Silver Jubilee Sports
Meet, Silver Jubillee Alumni meet, Silver Jubilee Alumnai Sports Meet, IPU Health Mela, etc will
be organised as a part of the year-long celebrations.
According to the Vice Chancellor of the University Padmashree Prof. Dr Mahesh Verma as it is a
great milestone, we are trying to publicise the name of the University through various public
domains - By sending a proposal to the Delhi Metro for renaming the name of the Dwarka 14
metro station to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprasthsa University Metro Station, renaming the road
in front of the University to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, signing of a MoU with
the newly built Sports Satadium near the Dwarka campus for extending its facilities to the
students, faculty staff & their family members, etc. "We are also planning to put up signages at
various locations across the city to popularise it, said the Vice Chancellor.
