Baba Gang Nath Sports Club organized its annual 5th Baba Gang Nath Inter State Swimming & Diving Championship at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Swimming Pool Complex. Record participation 900+ swimmers from eight states participated in Delhi’s Biggest Swimming Competition and 1300+ entries, out of 55 events 24 new meet records were established at BGN Swim Meet. The chief guest of the competition was Honorable Mr. Ramesh Bidhuri, Member of Parliament, South Delhi and co-convener of UP. The prize distribution ceremony was presided by club President Mr. Jitender Tokas, secretary Mr. Chand Tokas and Organizing Secretary Mr. Somender Tokas, who addressed the gathering and congratulated the winners. Results of the meet are: Sara Joshi broke the new meet record in 50 meter freestyle in women section, national swimmer Simran Bhadwar got the Silver medal in 50 meter Backstroke with the timing of 36sec. in Girls group 2, Modern School, vasant vihar swimmer Namish Verma, won the Gold medal in 50m butterfly & 50m freestyle. BGN swimmer Lakshya Verma got medal in 50 meter Back Stroke in boys group 2. Madhya Pradesh swimmer Sumit Jha won the bronze medal in 50m breast stroke, Karnataka swimmer Pranav J Roy got the silver medal in 50m butterfly in boys group 4. Guest of honor Ms. Sunaina Kumari, Joint Secretary, Indian Olympic Association gave cash award and motivated all the teams to give their best in their respective events. Winners were felicitated with merit/participation certificates, medals, cash award, trophies, speedo best swimmer award for best swimmer in each category. Free refreshments for all participants. Mr. Anil Khatri, Joint Secretary, Swimming Federation of India, Arjun awardee, Mr. Khajan Singh Tokas, National coach of Diving Mr. Mayur Vyas and Mr. Ashok Sharma and other dignitaries were also present at the function.
