Under the auspices of National Legal Services Authority and the Delhi State Legal Services Authority, National Lok Adalat was organised on Saturday, 11.02.2017 by South West District Legal Services Authority (SW-DLSA) at Dwarka Courts Complex. Pending matters under the Electricity Act and pre-litigative matters relating to outstanding electricity dues of BSES RPL as well as pre-litigative matters of Punjab National Bank, State Bank of India, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd. (MTNL) and Muthoot Finance were taken up in the said Lok Adalat. Family Court matters involving matrimonial disputes were also taken up for settlement. Further, matters pertaining to criminal compoundable offences under the Indian Penal Code and cheque dishonour cases as well as civil cases were also taken up for settlement. Traffic challans were also covered. In all 16 Lok Adalat Benches were set up to deal with the above matters which were presided over by Ld. Additional District & Sessions Judges, Ld. Civil Judges and Ld. Metropolitan Magistrates.
Under the supervision of Shri Brijesh Sethi, Ld. Distrtict & Seesions Judge, Dwarka Courts as well as Ld. Chairperson and Shri Jagmohan Singh, Secretary, SW-DLSA, elaborate arrangements were made for the convenience of the public and for smooth functioning of the National Lok Adalat. Help Desks were set up near the entry gates meant for the Public to guide them to the Courts where their matters were listed for settlement. Staff was specially deputed at the Facilitation Centre for the same purpose.
The National Lok Adalat received an overwhelming response from the general public. It was a huge success which is evident from the fact that in all 1352 cases were settled & for making the Lok Adalat a success.
