South West - District Legal Services Authority (SW-DLSA) in association with Delhi Traffic Police and various schools in Dwarka, is organised for Legal Literacy Programmes to observe Global Road Safety Week 2017 between 08.05.2017 to 14.05.2017. The campaign aims to ensure that the general public as well as school students are well informed and sensitized about road safety norms.
On the fourth day of the Global Road Safety Week i.e., on 11th May 2017, a Road Safety Campaign was organised in association with students of N.K. Bagrodia Public School and Sri Venkateswar School and Delhi Traffic Police at Sec. 12, near DIS school, Dwarka and Kargil Chowk, Dwarka respectively. Shri Jagmohan Singh, Ld Secretary SW-DLSA inaugurated the above campaign and interacted with the school students who were stationed at busy traffic inter-sections near their schools along with traffic police officials for around one hour from 9 AM to 10 AM. He spoke to them about the necessity of observing traffic regulations in an age of ever increasing road accidents.
Ld. Secretary was posed with many interesting questions from the students which were thoroughly answered by him. He was accompanied by Traffic Police personnel who guided the inquisitive school students about counseling traffic violators. The event saw an enthusiastic participation from the students who were carrying placards in their hands to educate the road users about the road safety norms and counseled road users found indulging in common road violations such as triple riding, riding two-wheeler without helmet, under-age driving, non -stopping of the vehicle before the zebra crossing, red light jumping, dangerous driving etc.
