Green Circle organised a Public meeting in DDA Park No 7 in Sector 6 which was to address the issues of safety and cleanliness of the park. The meeting was attended by number of residents of nearby societies, DDA flats and Palam Vihar. Addressing the meeting, Additional SHO Mukesh Kumar appreciated the people’s participation in greening the park and requested green Circle to plant fruit bearing trees in the parks to attract birds. He also assured of his support to ensure safety in the park. He advocated people’s participation in identifying the anti social elements who come to the park and involve in anti social elements.
Jamil Ahmad, Deputy Director of Horticulture, DDA while appreciating the involvement of Green Circle in cleaning the park also assured of all assistance for the upkeep of the park. He assured to provide medicinal and fruit bearing trees for the park. H S Rawat, Executive Engineer of DDA Dwarka participated in the discussion and said that DDA will be at the beckon call of the people to do their best.
During the question answer session, people from various societies actively participated and raised issues of Park safety. One of the participants asked the DDA Horticulture department to ensure availability of water supply in the parks. Bagwan Singh Saini, a Palam Vihar resident raised the issue of liquor menace and wanted Police to control Anti Social elements. Beat constable Anoop came forward and gave his mobile number to all the participants. He assured that he will be available for any emergency. One of the residents raised the issue of CCTV monitoring by Police. Mukesh Kumar agreed to consider the same. K C Kumar of Diamond Square raised the absence of high mast light in the park which was the main cause of anti social activities. Rawat assured of earliest solution for the same. Some of the residents wanted DDA to organise regular meeting and camps to create awareness about cleanliness and greening.
I M Khanna, Vice Chairman of Green Circle presided over the meeting. Welcoming all, V Selvarajan said that most of the trees in the parks have been adopted by people voluntarily. Campaigns for plastic removal in the park will be carried out to create awareness among people about the need for environmental care. Thanking all for the support, Anil Parashar requested the authorities to continue their support for the upliftment of the park. P K Chopra, Lackvinder Singh and Kesan made the arrangements for the program.
