World Hearing Day - Camp organised at Dwarka Sector 23, Police Station
Rampo Hearing Clinic along with AYJNISHD( Noida), Sonadev Aarogyam, Unitron and Shruti conducted “Hearing care for All-Screening, Rehabilitation and communication program” at Dwarka Police Wellness centre, Sector 23, Dwarka, New Delhi. This program has registered an event to celebrate the World Hearing Day, 2021 with the World Hearing Forum to raise the awareness on how to prevent deafness and hearing loss and promote the ear and hearing care across the world.
Free Hearing screening, training, early intervention, prevention, free ear protection devices and awareness materials were given to the policemen and their families. Dr. Ram P Kumar Director of Rampo Clinic – described the simple self-hearing testing methods and importance of regular visit with the professionals.
Senior Audiologists, Dr. Santosh Prasad, Dr. Alok Kumar , Dr. Kalyani Singh, Mr. Himanshu Shriwal and the Audiology interns Ms. Neha Sharma, Ms. Khushboo Rani,Ms. Sanskriti Sahu, Ms. Neeharika Mishra, Mr.Moksh and Mr. Nitin Sharma conducted hearing screening and all other training and activities to all the Policemen and their family members attended. Ms. Punita Kumari, Administrative Director of Rampo Clinic, Mr. Suneet Kumar from Unitron and Mr. Somnath from Shruti had graced the program and actively participated.
All the participants were counselled for steps to avoid noise exposure and aural hygiene as part of the program. Continuous exposure to high level noise leads to permanent hearing loss and there is no treatment available so far. Hearing organ is highly sensitive and everyone should pay attention to such sound exposures, even while using headphones and earphones extensively.
