Ajmal Khan Lift Pelicans Under 16 Trophy | Sports Fatafat | 14 October 2019 | 08

In an exciting match Ajmal Khan CC beat Mishra Sports CC by 6 runs to win the 12th Pelicans Cricket Tournament for under 16 Boys(in memory of late Smt Kadambari Venkataraman &late Shri S. Vijay) in the final played at Om Sai Cricket Academy, Rajokri.Electing to bat first Ajmal Khan CC with a substantial unbeaten contribution from Harshit Kumar reached a competitive score of 202 for 9 in their alloted 35 overs. For Mishra Sports CC Krish Sehgal was economical as also productive. Mishra sports CC were always in the game but lost wickets regularly to fall short of the target. For AKCC Vansraj Sharma was the leading wicket taker. Former Delhi & Punjab Ranji Trophy and Indian selector was the Chief Guest at the Prize Distribution held immediately after the match.

The tournament was conducted with financial assistance of members and well wishers of the club .The new balls, trophies and prizes were provided by Young Friends CC, Ajmal Khan CC, Mishra SportsCC, Friends CC, Bright CC
The ground was provided by OM Sai Cricket Academy. No entry was charged . The club honoured six of its players Sonu Rathee , Vikas Rana, Ankit Narwal, Deepak Khatri, Harshit Kaushik and Sidharth Sharma for their outstanding performances in DDCA league 2018-19 where the club finished 2nd in one group of the Premier Division
A well wisher of the club Mr Gautam Guha who has always been sponsoring prizes for tournaments conducted in the past by the club sponsored the individual prizes for members of the finalist teams
