In the second episode of our fortnightly programme, our host Rahul Ranjan reviews Mirae Asset India Opportunities Fund, one of the consistent performer that was launched on April 4, 2008, for the benefit of our listeners. Neelesh Surana who has been managing it since then, and Harshad Borawake, who has recently joined Surana as co-fund manager, shares his insight, experiences and thoughts about handling it. The fund can be kept under the equity-large-cap category. The benchmark index is S&P BSE 200. The investment objective of the scheme is to generate long-term capital appreciation by capitalising on potential investment opportunities through predominantly investing in equity and equity-related securities.There is no assurance or guarantee of returns. Ranjan clarifies, It is a diversified fund and money can be invested in any sector, theme, market capitalisation or investment style. Year-on-year, this scheme has surpassed its benchmark.
Borawake says, "The fund has a satisfactory nine-year-old track record. It has the flexibility to invest across the market cap and theme. It should be the core holding for any long-term investor."
