Wonder Woman | Nita Arora | 'I'm the head learner of my school'
In this episode, Radio Dwarka invited Nita Arora, Principal of Sri Venkateshwar International School, for a freewheeling chat.
Calling herself the head learner, she would love to learn all along. "I would rather introduce myself as the head learner, who goes to a wonderful school and meets so many wonderful students on a daily basis."
A middle child, she was always an independent as the older sister was dad's favourite while younger brother was mum's darling.
Fond of reading, she would even read from paper bags after emptying stuff from it. Amazingly, she had decided early in life that she would grow up to be either a doctor or school principal. "I was nine when I made my career choice and stuck to it."
She's concerned about behavioural issues of students in today's time that she summed up as over protection, adjustment, and tolerance.
"I used to run a club by the name Rose Club for children. I used to manage children and organise the annual function. I loved exam time as during those days; I could get extra time to play."
"My husband has been my biggest support system. As a couple, we always made sure that our kids came home and one of us would be there to be welcome them; they had never seen a locked door."
She became a Principal at 35 as she wanted.
She shared many anecdotes from her teaching career that had many lessons for both students and parents.
