Radio Dwarka is proud to start a new series Tazurba that aims to highlight the achievements of the elderly and seniors, who are way past their retirement age but still working and livin' it up. Through this programme, we hope to use the invaluable experiences of those who will be featured here to enrich, inspire, guide and touch the lives of hundreds and thousands of people at large. In the first episode, we spoke to Shri IM Khanna, a former bank employee, who is an active social activist in Dwarka. A law graduate from Delhi University, he joined the banking services and has had the privilege to serve at 19 stations across four states and 16 branches. "I tried taking VRS but the bank didn't let me have my way," he said. Family matters "My son is CA and is working as VP, HSBC, and daughter has done MBA from DU. They are well settled in life, and I owe a lot of it to my better half who has complemented me in more than one way. It is admirable how she took care of the domestic chores single-handedly when I was posted out of the station." Life after 60 "Life doesn't stop. Age is no doubt a factor but certainly not the limiting factor. If you are keen to do something, you will find the time, energy and resources to do it, whatever it takes."Work wise "Children are immaculate and innocent, and when you add your experience to it, you help in making him a better citizen fortomorrow. It gives me immense joy to work for their welfare," Khanna said. He is the national president of Helping Women. Teaching a lesson "The most common bane of modern living is the time constraint. It leads to lack or poor communication among people, and that causes a lot of issues in families that are small units of our society. So learn to share, meet and talk it out. And value the elderly. They can offer you priceless advice and add to your life's learning."
