The three-day International Kite Festival was held in Dwarka to celebrate Uttarayan and Makar Sankranti. The tourism department hosted the fourth kite festival after a gap of three years from January 14-16 at DDA Park in Sector 10, Dwarka.
"The fourth kite festival saw enthusiastic participation of kite flyers from 11 countries and 14 cities from Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Punjab and Delhi. It is being held in the suburb for the first time, and the response is overwhelming," said Anudeep Bedi of Delhi Tourism Department.
Apart from kite flying, theme stalls to show the art of making kites of different sizes with various materials such as tissue paper, bamboo and cloth were on display at the festival.
"We also have street food stalls, craft workshops and cultural programmes. There will also be a kite making competition for children," Bedi said.
